And your audience will interpret your writing according to their expectations and experiences.  Basically this paragraph gives us insite that genre and audience are one in 2 different names because depending on who you talk to you have to change up the game so that you get the outcome you are looking for.  Like for a teacher a paper, your girlfriend a love letter, your mom a sweet note, your boss a memo, ect.
